Ajax Drag-and-Drop Stock Quote Demo

This demo is an exercise in minimalism. We wanted to find out how much of a “desktop feel” we could get with just 300 lines of code—an illustration that Ajax can be powerful without being complicated. The demo is written using the server-side Echo2 Ajax framework over a backend using an ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) to stream stock quotes.

To use, drag some of the symbols from the left column to the right. They should show up as grids with company information and stock quotes. These quotes will update every few seconds (provided the exchange is open). You can drag the grids back to the left hand column to remove them from the display.
