Taras Novak Named Vice President of Development at Pathfinder

Pathfinder builds out innovative web 2.0 capabilities

Chicago, IL (August 21, 2007) Pathfinder named Taras Novak, Vice President of Development. CEO Bernhard Kappe says “We’re very excited to have Taras on board. We believe he will be a tremendous asset in our quest to be the market leader in delivering innovative web 2.0 applications.”

Taras will contribute to building out Pathfinder’s agile software product development practice and lead research and development efforts on information visualization using emerging web 2.0 technologies, public APIs, and RIA platforms such as Adobe AIR and Microsoft Silverlight.

“Pathfinder Development is a rare breed of forward-thinking consulting companies that acknowledge the need to closely integrate best software development and usability practices, open source platforms and new technological advances to deliver quality solutions to their clients,” Taras explained, “We are in the midst of a changing Internet landscape where abundance of information and failure of standard multimedia channels created a gap, a gap which will soon be consumed by hundreds of online services mashed together in an effort of aggregating global information sources for public consumption. I believe the true interactive semantic Web is still ahead of us and look forward to see my company become a part of this change.”

Taras brings eight years of experience in Agile Methods with Extreme Programming and Scrum project management techniques applied in development of corporate and consumer facing J2EE and .Net solutions. The new Vice President of Development comes to Pathfinder from Knotice Ltd., where he was Vice President of Platform Architecture. There, he directed technical design and development of the Concenti platform, an enterprise solution for managing multi-stage marketing campaigns across email, mobile and web channels. Previously, he designed a highly customizable web application portal framework for Niku Corporation, featuring a service-oriented architecture supporting deployments within Global 2000 organizations. Taras graduated with honors from the University of Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering.
